System Wide Design Services

SMART is the Bay Area’s newest form of transportation for passengers located in Sonoma and Marin County. SMART currently has 43 miles of rail which includes 10 stations from Sonoma County Airport to Downtown San Rafael. SMART will be expanding its existing line by 27 miles which will run from Cloverdale, at the north end of Sonoma County, to Larkspur, where the Golden Gate Ferry connects Marin County with San Francisco. Along the way, SMART will have stations at the major population and job centers of the North Bay: San Rafael, Novato, Petaluma, Cotati, Rohnert Park, Santa Rosa, Windsor, and Healdsburg.

To assist with this effort, YEI provided preliminary engineering design services which consisted of electrical services, raceway infrastructure for communications and train signals for the 70 miles of existing and future rail line. YEI has also completed Bridging Documents for the crossings and bridges from San Rafael to Santa Rosa.
