Designed a SCADA system configuration for the medium voltage electrical distribution system for the entire laboratory site; prepared I/O Lists; connection diagrams to facilitate system wiring and participated in SCADA system factory acceptance tests. The system included two master stations with six remote termination units, one in each switching station.

SCADA System

     Provided power distribution sustem upgrade for Building 46, including replacement of an outdoor pad-mounted transformer, primary and secondary sections, replacement of distribution panelboards, new raceways and cables. Preliminary design, detailed design and construction services were provided. Performed electrical maintenance procedures for Building 66; electrical connections for research equipment, Bldg. 66; conceptual design report for electrical, mechanical, fire protection, communication systems of the building.

YEI has performed various engineering tasks for Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory under retainer contracts, a representative sample of which is listed below:

• Design and construction support for the Grizzly Substation switchgear: two double bus, 15kV switchgear assemblies that provide power to the facility's primary distribution network with duct banks and cable connection to source and loads.
• Design and construction support for the Original Labsite Switching Station: a lineup of thirteen 15kV vacuum circuit breakers in metal clad switchgear with underground duct banks and cable connections to source and loads.
• Design and construction support for the East Canyon Switching Station: a lineup of ten 15kV vacuum circuit breakers in metal clad switchgear with underground duct banks and cable connections to source and load.
• Design and construction support for Building 58 Substation: a 12.47kV-480V transformer installation with secondary metal enclosed switchgear and automatic transfer of critical loads to the emergency generator.
• Design for Blackberry Canyon Switching Station Replacement Project: New 15kV switching station and three building substations, underground ducts and cables to provide power to buildings and laboratories which are being converted to serve the new missions of LBNL.
• Studies on power factor correction, economic cable sizes, power quality, relay and fuse coordination, SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition).
